Yoga Begins Now: Autumn’s Invitation into Presence

ree

As the air cools and the trees begin their graceful surrender, we find ourselves in a sacred threshold: a season of release, reflection, and renewal. Autumn invites us to shed the old patterns, like leaves that have completed their purpose, and make space for what is quietly waiting to be born within us.

In yoga, this process is called vidya: the ability to see things as they are. It is the clear seeing that arises when the mind quiets and we return to presence. In this light, fall becomes more than a season; it becomes a teacher.

“Yoga begins in the present moment, and the present moment begins in silence.” ~ Michael Stone

These words remind us that yoga is not something we do, but a state of being that unfolds when we soften into the now. Every breath we take holds this truth.

The natural world mirrors this rhythm: creation and dissolution, expansion and surrender, life and release.

When we practice yoga or meditation during this time of year, we are invited to embody this same wisdom: to honor both the growth and the letting go.

We may notice how the mind wants to hold on to what was or anticipate what’s next, but the practice of yoga calls us home to this moment, where everything is already whole.

Yoga is not a willful act of union. It is the recognition that we are already united.

This is the heart of yoga: interconnection. The more we learn to rest in awareness, the more compassion and clarity we bring into every breath, every conversation, every quiet morning cup of tea. The practice becomes less about poses and more about presence, less about reaching for something and more about remembering what has always been here.

As you move through this season, let your practice be one of bowing gently to the present moment. Breathe deeply. Notice what is asking to be released. Feel the completeness of what is already here.

Yoga begins now. And now. And now.

Join Us in Practice

Join us tomorrow morning for Living in Love Miracle Meditation at 8:30 am EST and Gentle Hatha Yoga at 9:30 am EST: sacred spaces to return to the heart of presence.

Through meditation, we learn to quiet the ripples of the mind and see with the inner eye of vidya, truthful perception. Through mindful movement and breath, we embody that awareness, softening the veil between who we think we are and the wholeness that we truly are.

Each practice is an invitation to experience life directly: to see, feel, and love what is, exactly as it is.
