Have you ever had a subtle nudge, a quiet “yes” or a small voice within, guiding you, even when your logical mind didn’t understand?
Intuition isn’t magic or mystery reserved for a few. It’s an inner guidance we all possess, though in the noise and busyness of daily life, it’s easy to miss or doubt.
A Moment of Intuitive Knowing
Several years ago, I was at a crossroads - pulled between what seemed like the “smart” next step in my career and a deep, unshakeable urge to leap into the unknown. On paper, the choice made little sense. But sitting quietly on my yoga mat one morning, I felt a peaceful sense of “yes” in my body, an ease, an openness, a sensation like sunlight coming through clouds. Trusting that nudge eventually led me to a new home, meaningful work, and a circle of women I cherish to this day.
I see this all the time with students, too. One woman arrived in class firmly convinced “she just wasn’t intuitive,” but week by week, as she learned to pause and listen, often during Savasana, she started noticing gentle gut feelings guiding her both on the mat (“skip that extra pose today”) and in daily life (“call your friend, she needs you”). Her confidence grew not because she forced decisions, but because she made space to trust and listen inside herself.
Awaken Your Intuition: A Simple Self-Inquiry Practice
You don’t need hours of silence or a crystal ball to connect to your inner guide. Try this gentle practice, anytime:
Mini-Intuition Meditation & Inquiry:
Sit comfortably, close your eyes, and take five slow, deep breaths.
Place one hand on your heart and one on your belly.
Ask yourself, softly: “What do I need most right now?”
Notice what arises: a word, an image, a sensation, or even a subtle pull.
If journaling calls to you, write it down or finish this sentence:
“My intuition is guiding me to ____________.”
Trust what comes, even if it’s quiet or surprising.
The more often you practice asking and truly listening, the clearer your intuition will become, both in big life decisions and in tiny moments, like choosing rest when you’re tired or reaching out to someone you love.
