EASY MASALA CHAI TEA RECIPE
Updated: Jan 15
I love the way this tea tastes but I also love how it smells in my home. Sipping it invokes the best memories of my travels in India.
I encourage preparing the tea mindfully with love in your heart.
Ingredients:
1 whole organic cinnamon stick
6-8 green organic cardamom pods
1 tsp whole organic black peppercorns
3-4 whole organic cloves
2 ½ cups filtered water
2 Tbsp grated organic ginger (for less intense ginger flavor, slice instead of grating)
3 Tbsp loose leaf organic black tea (or ~3-4 black tea bags // use decaf as needed)
2 cups dairy-free organic milk (oat milk, coconut milk, and cashew milk)
Sweetener (stevia, organic cane sugar, coconut sugar, or maple syrup to taste)
Recipe:
Place cinnamon stick, cardamon, peppercorns, and cloves in a mortar and use a pestle to gently crush all.
Add water, spices and ginger to a pot. Bring to a boil.
Add tea and milk in pot. Reduce heat and bring to a simmer for about 15 minutes.
Sweeten as needed
You can keep the tea in the fridge for 3-4 days.
